What is the EU tire label?
European Regulation (EC) no. 1222/2009 requires that all tires for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, heavy commercial vehicles and buses that are produced after June 2012 should carry a sticker or be accompanied by a clearly visible label at the point of sale. Based on three aspects, the label gives a better insight into the tire's characteristics.
Tire tread depth
Tires will always remain the determining factor in the contact between the car and the road surface. The optimum functioning of tires is strongly influenced by their tread depth.
The correct tire pressure
Correct tire pressure is crucial for safe and comfortable driving. A tire can only perform at its best when it is able to ensure sufficient stability and load capacity. And that is where having the correct tire pressure comes in.
Storing summer and winter tires
The lifespan and performance of tires can be increased by correct handling and proper storage when not in use. It is very important therefore that everyone is aware of how to do this.
When should I replace my tires?
It makes good sense to have your tire specialist regularly check your tires. This allows defects to be identified at an early stage, which can extend tire lifespan and prevent many dangerous situations.
